Our target
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA.
What we are doing
- Building the Site with semantic HTML and a declared page language on every page.
- Maintaining text contrast that meets Level AA on body and secondary text.
- Sizing navigation links and buttons for touch, at a minimum of 44 pixels.
- Honoring the browser's reduced motion setting, so animations do not play for visitors who ask for less motion.
- Leaving the browser's built-in keyboard focus indicator in place rather than removing it.
- Reviewing accessibility as part of our own pre-launch checklist for every site we build, including this one.
Known limitations
We would rather tell you what is not finished than claim a standard we have not fully verified.
- This Site has not yet had a complete accessibility audit. Automated testing, keyboard-only navigation testing, and screen reader testing are planned and are not yet complete.
- Custom focus styling has not been added. Keyboard focus currently relies on the browser default indicator, which can be low contrast against a dark background.
- A full review of text alternatives for images on the Site has not yet been completed.
We update this page as items are resolved, and we change the date at the top when we do.
